Should my business go global or just stay local?

Our President Director, Ryu Kawano Suliawan, brought this topic up in his conversation with DailySocial, and it sure triggered some thoughts out there. The success of eCommerce in Indonesia has been seen as a challenge for some to go and expand its wings to overseas, but will it be the right move to do?

If you haven't read it already, here is the article as published by DailySocial:

According to Ryu, the decision making should be hold off for now. A perfect momentum is necessary, and a significant track record in home country is required before any expansion is initiated. Sure, the global market looks tempting, but to compete head-to-head from the giants in Sillicon Valley might be really hard to do, if not incredibly difficult.

Additionally, Ryu argues that the Asian market will overpower the American one, a paradigm he has been observing based on the trend from the past few years. He believes that soon enough, Asian countries like China, India, Japan, Singapore, as well as Indonesia, will be economic giants with potential in the global market.

It is not impossible though, we are not being pessimistic here. If you feel like your business is ready to grab the global market, here's an article with 6 tips that might help:
